Activities
I don't know yet how 2024 will go with canoeing, but if my study agenda allows it, I might sail some canoe sprint competitions next year.
To be continued.
The Dutch Canoe Sprint Championships were held on the Willem Alexanderbaan in Zevenhuizen near Rotterdam on September 9 and 10.
I participated in all canoe sprint distances: 200, 500 & 1000 meters, not only in the K1, but also in the K2 and K4.
The canoe sprint competitions took place in Geel, Belgium from 22 to 24 August.
I participated in various canoe sprint distances: 200, 500 & 1000 meters. I also participated in the 5000 meter sprint marathon. Although I did not win any medals, I was still able to prepare well for the Dutch Championships a few weeks later.

From September 16 to 18, 2022 I participated in the World Student Championships in Poland.
I have canoed finals in the K1 500m (8th) and 200m (9th).
I learned a lot from it, which I can use again after a well-deserved rest period of a month when training for 2023 😊
Saturday September 3 was the Brabant regatta. Unfortunately, due to too few registrations, it was a one-day competition. Here I competed K1 and K2 1000m and 500m and the NK K1 long course (5km).
Even though it was only 1 day, it was a very nice match with good opposition. I ended the weekend with a 2nd, 3rd, 2x 4th and a 6th place.
The canoe sprint competitions took place in Geel, Belgium from 19 to 21 August.
I participated in various canoe sprint distances: 200, 500 & 1000 meters. I also participated in the 5000 meter sprint marathon. Although I did not win any medals, I was still able to prepare well for the Dutch Championships a few weeks later.
From July 8 to 10 I participated in international canoeing competitions in Auronzo di Cadore, located in the Italian Dolomites.
It was nice to finally canoe a major international competition again after 4 years and at such a beautiful location. I am happy with my semi-finals in the K1 1000m and 500m, a 6th place in the K2 500m and a 7th place in the K1 5000m.
I learned a lot from it, which I can now use again when training for the Student World Cup in September, this year in Poland 😊
Sunday June 12 was the ZP Sprint Cup.
It was a full day with 12 competitions divided over K1, K2 and K4 and 100, 200 and 500m. This made it a tiring but very fun day with many exciting competitions.
Saturday, May 7, it was time for the match at the Geuzen in Zaandam.
This competition day was part of a training weekend, meaning we had training on Friday and Sunday and then competed on Saturday.
It was a nice day with nice weather and fun competitions in K1 and K2 over 100m and 200m. The highlight was a bronze medal in the K1 200m.
